One idea that I tried was the celebration of Dr. Suess' birthday. I got a Cat in the Hat balloon and enough booksmarks for all the students in the school. Pre-K got stickers not bookmarks. My aide and I pulled all of the Dr. Suess books off of the shelves and made another display area for them. I found some Dr. Suess websites that I showed the students and many of their teachers let them explore the websites during their computer lab time. Here are some of the sites I found below.
- http://www.seussville.com/games/
I really wish I had more time to explore all of the wonderful resources that are on the internet, but at least there are a few.
Again, being a new librarian I am always looking for new and exciting things to do with my students that will engage them and help them learn. If anyone has more great ideas please let me know.
